Jimei District has a total coverage area of 276 sqkm, 6 subdistricts and a permanent population of about 748,000. As the hometown of Mr. Chen Jiageng, Jimei District is a famous Taiwanese investment zone, a hometown of overseas Chinese and a scenic area. Located in the center of the metropolitan region of Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, it is also the transportation hub of Southwest Fujian. It prioritizes the development of six major industrial chain groups, i.e. mechanical equipment, software and information service, cultural creation and tourism, modern logistics, new material and urban modern agriculture.
